Helmi A. Hisserich
Helmi A. Hisserich is responsible for increasing the supply of affordable housing in Los Angeles and ensuring affordable housing is preserved and well maintained in the long term. Ms. Hisserich works with government officials, affordable housing developers, financial institutions, and housing advocates to develop effective affordable housing programs. Prior to joining HCIDLA, Ms. Hisserich served as Deputy Mayor for Housing and Homelessness in the Administration of former Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and as a senior manager at the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles. Ms. Hisserich earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California and a Master in Business Administration at Cornell University. In 2011, Ms. Hisserich attended Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government Senior Officials in State and Local Government Program.
